Silent Hill f: Shrine Maiden Sakuko-Like Entity Boss Guide (Sound of Silence Trophy)
Silent Hill f brings back nightmarish monstrosities as bosses for players to go head-to-head against using the newly revamped combat system. One of the first major bosses you’ll be facing is a demonic Sakuko-like entity disguised as a Shrine Maiden. Players will need to beat this boss towards the end of the Corridors chapter, and will need to avoid getting hit by its Suzu Bell attack to unlock the Sound of Silence trophy in Silent Hill f.

All Shrine Maiden Sakuko-Like Entity Attacks in Silent Hill f
Shrine Maiden Sakuko-Like Entity is the first major boss players will encounter in Silent Hill f. Sakuko uses a spiked mace with varying attacks that punish players for being either too far or too close to her. So, you’ll need to dynamically switch your positioning from close-quarters or mid-range combat during the fight to avoid Sakuko’s variety of attacks.
Let’s check out all Sakuko boss attacks and how they can counter these in Silent Hill f.

Move Name |
Attack Pattern |
How to Dodge/Counter |
|---|---|---|---|
|
Mace Ground Smash |
Sakuko will spread her arms, jump close to players, lift her spiked mace over her head, and smash it on the ground. |
The priority should be to counter this attack by attacking Sakuko when she’s about to smash the mace into the ground. However, if you don’t have enough Sanity, then simply dodge away. |
|
|
Chain Throw |
The boss will lift her mace in the air and throw it swiftly at the players. This can be followed up with either a second throw or an AOE chain pull that can deal additional damage. |
Players must focus on when Sakuko lifts the mace into the air, and dodge towards her when she finally throws it. Pulling off a perfect dodge will give you ample opportunity to land a few attacks. |
|
|
Mace and Chain Combo |
If players are too close to Sakuko for a prolonged time, she’ll launch a melee combo using the mace and chain. |
It’s best to keep your distance from Sakuko after landing in a few hits to avoid triggering this attack. If the attack is underway, simply perform two dodges away from Sakuko and keep walking back to avoid getting hit. |
|
|
Death Hug |
During the later stages of the Sakuko-like entity boss fight in Silent Hill f, her body will slouch down slightly and launch towards the players to lock them in a grab/hug. Getting caught in this attack can drain your HP anywhere from 25% to 50%. |
Make sure to keep an eye on Sakuko’s body posture, especially during the later phase of the fight. If she slouches her body down or says “Dodge This,” quickly dodge away, or try to time a perfect dodge. |
|
|
Suzu Bell Attack |
Once her HP falls below ~50%, Sakuko will launch a full-scale Suzu Bell attack, which will enshroud the area in thick crescent fog. Sakuko will teleport away from players and charge up the attack three times. Getting hit by the Suzu Bell attack will prevent players from unlocking the Sound of Silence trophy in Silent Hill f. |
Once the boss begins her Suzu Bell attack, you’ll need to rely on audio or spot her glowing halo through the fog to pinpoint her location. Once you’ve found her, quickly run towards her and hit her with either one heavy attack or two light attacks to interrupt. |
Best Strategy to Defeat Sakuko-Like Entity in Silent Hill f (Sound of Silence Trophy)
This video showcases the strategy to beat Sakuko and avoid all her attacks, including the process of unlocking the Sound of Silence trophy in Silent Hill f.
Right after you reach the end of the Corridors chapter, the objective will change to “Find the Fox Mask” in Silent Hill f. There’s a shrine right before the Shrine Maiden Sakuko-like Entity boss fight that you should use to create a save point. This will be extremely helpful for you to reload, in case you get hit by her Suzu Bell attack and lose the chance of unlocking the Sound of Silence trophy.
The Beetle Omamori works great against Sakuko, as it’ll let you inflict increased damage when the boss is stunned.
Make sure to use the Naginata weapon for this boss fight. Once the boss fight starts, wait for Sakuko to trigger her Chain Throw attack, which you should avoid using perfect dodge. Make sure to dodge in the boss’s direction to quickly follow up with at least two heavy attacks.
You should also fill up your Sanity meter to use focus attack counters against Sakuko. One attack that lets you counter Sakuko is the Mace Ground Smash. When Sakuko lifts her spiked mace above her head, you’ll see the prompt to counter, and you should press the attack button quickly to interrupt her. This can be followed by two more heavy attacks before backing out.
Once Sakuko initiates her Suzu Bell attack, you should quickly be on alert and detect her teleport location within the boss arena. Once you spot her glowing halo ring through the fog, quickly rush towards her and land a heavy or two light attacks. You’ll need to repeat this to interrupt her Suzu Bell attack three times each time. Sakuko can also initiate a small-scale Suzu Bell attack, with a shorter charge duration, mid-fight, so watch out for that too.
