Steve Jones confirmed his departure on social media on Monday. No statement has been made by Wrexham and it has not been disclosed why his association with the Welsh team has come to an end, with Jones saying he will not make any further comment.

Jones' exit comes amid a great deal of change for the Welsh side's stadium. Hollywood stars Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds' club are set to take ownership of the Racecourse Ground after the Wrexham Football Supporter’s Society Limited accepted their proposal to surrender the lease. The news means Wrexham can expand the stadium.

"Devastated to say I am no longer associated with [Wrexham]," Jones posted on social media. "I have no further comment to make."

His post was followed by plenty of replies from Wrexham fans expressing their disappointment of the news.
